Giovanna Di Marzo Serugendo is Professor at the University of Geneva, Faculty of Social and Economics Science.  She is currently head of the Institute of Services Science. She holds an MSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Geneva and a PhD from the EPFL. Prior to joining the University of Geneva, she was Senior Lecturer at Birkbeck College, University of London. Her research interests are related to the engineering of autonomous systems and ecosystems of services, in particular self-assembly of software, self-organising, self-adaptive and large-scale services. She is exploring reliability and controllability issues;  properties and formal methods issues; and decentralised algorithms. Applications areas considered at the moment are: autonomous displays, industrial assembly systems,  services for mobile users and dynamically resilient services.
