International Exchange Program
At HEC Geneva we deliver a first class educational experience to our students to prepare them well for their future careers. To be successful in an increasingly complex and globalized business world students need to gain international experience. Hence, we offer a great variety of international exchange programmes with worldwide partner universities and business schools to give our students the opportunity for an enriching educational and personal experience abroad. Living and studying abroad is a great opportunity for a unique experience in a different cultural context, for improving language skills, for expanding the professional network and last but not least for increasing attractiveness for future employers.
How it works...
Students in the Master of Science in Management ideally should spend a semester abroad during the 3rd semester of the programme. The deadline for applications is usually the 1st of December each year. Students who earn at least 15 ECTS at one of our numerous partner institutions are not required to do an internship during the 3rd semester of the Master of Science in Management program. After their semester abroad they can directly start with the master thesis.
Students can spend a semester at a partner institution in Europe, Americas, Asia, or Oceania. They can also choose to go to a Swiss University located outside the French-speaking Switzerland. For some countries like the USA, only a limited number of places are available for students of the whole University of Geneva. Therefore, applicants go through a very strict selection process.
Students of the Master of Science in Management can go to a partner institution that has signed agreements specially with HEC Genève (Gestion d’entreprise), with the whole Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (Faculté des SES) or with the entire University of Geneva. We count among our partners worldwide top ranked institutions such as the University of Boston and the University of California in Los Angeles in the USA, the University of Sidney and the University of Melbourne in Australia, WHU and European Business School in Germany, City University of Hong Kong and many more.
During the semester at a partner institution, the students of the Master of Science in Management only pay their enrolment and studying fees at the University of Geneva, but no additional fees at the partner institution. This is an extraordinary advantage especially for students who go to institutions which charge high enrolment and studying fees.
